On Sunday night, December 15th, the MTA Lions traveled to Kushner and were victorious by a final score of 63-34. The Lions played hard on both ends of the court, with multiple players stepping up in the win.
Senior guard Jakey Abenaim was on fire, leading the way with 15 points and racking up 4 steals. He was everywhere, setting the tone with his energy and defense. Senior center Josh Treuhaft dominated in the paint, dropping 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double. Junior forward Gavi Engel was super-efficient, scoring 13 points on 6/8 shooting while also nabbing 4 steals. Ethan Vaysman, another junior, added 10 points of his own, and junior guard Yishai Neiss (#24) chipped in with 6 points.
The Lions’ teamwork and hustle made all the difference. They moved the ball well, found the open man, and played lockdown defense. It was a complete team effort, and the Lions showed why they’re a team to watch this season. MTA now improves to 7-1, and will next take on HANC in a Saturday night road game on 12/21.
